Age Guardian is a decision-support tool that provides an estimate of a person’s apparent age to help staff determine when an ID check is recommended. This estimate is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute verification or confirmation of legal age.
Age Guardian does not replace the judgment of the retailer or its staff, nor does it replace applicable age-verification procedures. The final decision to approve or refuse a sale, as well as the responsibility for verifying the customer’s age, remains at all times with the retailer and its staff.
When Age Guardian recommends an ID check, staff must request valid identification in accordance with the retailer’s policies and applicable laws. Even when Age Guardian does not recommend an ID check, staff must request identification whenever there is any doubt regarding the customer’s age.
Age Guardian provides an estimate based on apparent age and does not guarantee the accuracy of every estimate. Age Guardian and its manufacturer cannot be held liable for any decision to approve or refuse a sale, or for any consequences arising from the use or interpretation of the estimate provided by the system.
Use of Age Guardian constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Privacy Protection
Age Gardien helps facilitate conversations about age verification. By applying a consistent policy, these interactions become simpler and more straightforward.
Age Gardien estimates whether a customer appears to be over 25 years old (green indicator) or 25 years old or younger (red indicator). The final decision always remains with the cashier. When in doubt, you must request identification, even if the indicator is green.
In all cases, Age Gardien helps initiate the conversation about age verification and provides an additional layer of support, helping cashiers and retailers strengthen compliance while providing faster service.
Notice on the use of AI
This system is used solely as a decision-support tool for age estimation and does not make any automated decisions on its own.
No images or biometric data are retained: the images are analyzed in real time and are neither recorded nor stored, thereby ensuring compliance with privacy rights and personal data protection legislation.
It is up to our staff to make the final decision and, if deemed necessary, to request identification.

Age Gardien has been tested and complies with CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B)* and FCC regulations (47 CFR, Part 15, Subpart B).
*CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B) (Canada): This digital apparatus does not exceed the Class B limits for radio noise emissions from digital apparatus as set out in the interference-causing equipment standard entitled “Digital Apparatus,” ICES-003 of the Canadian Department of Communications. This product complies with Industry Canada’s licence-exempt RSS standards. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
